Additional information about Aerojet Rocketdyne can be obtained by visiting our websites at and We are currently seeking a Specialist Engineer, Cost and Affordability to work with engineers and program managers to provide affordability engineering expertise for diverse Aerojet Rocketdyne (AR) programs. This Specialist Engineer is expected to be able to work independently in a lead role or work as an integral team member in a supporting role.90 : Affordability Engineering Support of AR Programs. Typical duties may include but not limited to the following:Lead or assist with should cost estimates for proposals.Lead or assist with PRICE TruePlanning (or similar tool) estimates of propulsion system costs and associated component costs.Lead or support Design:to:Cost efforts on programs.Build a strong working relationship with other AR employees to ensure that the groupA?s capabilities are full utilized and that the groupA?s results are meeting customer needs.Embrace a continuous improvement mindset.Demonstrate a 100 commitment to quality in actions, decisions, and conversations.10 : Discipline Support and/or Training and Education:Create and improve training materials and possibly deliver training sessions.Support discipline plete mandatory and discretionary training.Attend staff meeting and other discipline coordination meetings.Requires a BachelorA?s in Engineering or related discipline and at least 9 years of directly related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship). Must be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information. Having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement. Additional Requirements and Preferred Qualifications:Experience with COTS parametric and other hardware modeling tools is highly desired.Advanced Excel skills.Understanding of how to best segregate and capture product costs expected.Familiarization with spacecraft and/or launch vehicle systems is preferred.Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.Strong work ethic and drive to succeed are required.Ability to work with all levels of Aerojet Rocketdyne organization is required. Work Environment and Physical Requirements: Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 15 pounds; may require minimal walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
