As an early member of this team, youA?ll create and deliver new user experiences from the ground up. Our charter is to be both a technology incubator for new products within IMDb, and to deliver innovative and exciting experiences that engage users around the exciting and glamorous Hollywood events that youA?ve seen online and on TV. You will need to have an established background in developing customer:facing experiences, a strong technical ability, great communication skills, a motivation to achieve results in a fast:paced environment, high creativity, great analytical reasoning skills, and, of course a passion for movies and TV. Youll work on highly scaled back:end services and cutting edge client:side software. You will develop services that run on AmazonA?s cloud computing infrastructure (AWS) and have opportunities to interact with teams across Amazon. You must be passionate about quality, consistency, maintainability, performance, security and all the other things that make great software great. You will own the design and implementation of major deliverables end:to:end. You will collaborate with UX designers, product managers, content editors, and partner teams, necessitating a comfort:level with ambiguity and a desire to create, iterate and improve. A love of movies is suggested, but not required; be prepared to be surrounded by debates about the best Hitchcock film ever made and discussions about what might happen this season on Game Of Thrones. Degree in Computer Science or related field3+ years of professional experience in software design and puter Science fundamentals in algorithm and object:oriented design, data structures, and problem solvingDemonstrable experience developing in Java in a Linux or UNIX environmentDemonstrable experience with relational databases and SQLA strong focus on clean code and solid designsExperience in taking a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the projectExperience with full stack development (both front: and back:end) and operation of a customer:facing cloud:based, scalable, production software systemExperience with critical, 24x7 systemsExperience developing web services, or other scalable distributed systems that have been successfully delivered to customersKnowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, continuous integration, deployment, and operationsExperience influencing software engineering best practices within your teamExperience writing interactive applications for the web (browser and mobile), and with several of the following: Java, AJAX, JavaScript, MVC frameworks, RDBMS, NoSQL data persistence, API development
