This position will be located at our facility in Canoga Park, CA (Los Angeles). This position may be filled at this level posted or one level higher.This Senior Engineer will support the product acceptance testing for the RS:68 Rocket Engine Program. This position requires knowledge and experience with rocket engine systems, data analysis, systems integration, and test planning. Tasks include development of test plans, development of test procedures, data analysis, generation of technical documents, preparation and presentation of technical briefings to internal and external customers. Under limited general direction, the Senior Engineer determines approaches to objectives demonstrating a complete understanding and application of engineering principles, concepts, and practices. 85 : Typically operates with limited supervision after receiving direction from the Integrated Product Team Manager. Lead coordination activities regarding meeting test objectives to accept the RS:68 engine for flight duty. This includes developing a thorough understanding of the rocket engine and test facility systems. Also, leads the coordination of integration of all component and system engineering support for hardware and software, as well as the post engine test data analysis and any potential anomaly resolution. Coordinates, prepares, and presents hardware acceptance reviews to the customer. The Senior Engineer will be responsible for generating and briefing of technical documentation including specifications, request for action, software requests, data review, test readiness reviews, anomaly reports, hardware acceptance reviews, and test report documents. 15 : Limited travel to the NASA Stennis Space Center will be required.Requires a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related field and 5+ years of experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience). U.S. Citizenship only required. Dual citizenship does not meet job requirements. Experience with liquid rocket propulsion systems desired. Experience working an equivalent engineering environment is desired. Work Environment and Physical Requirements:Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require minimal walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat.
