This position is assigned to the Engineering department and plays a role in product development and as such must be knowledgeable, responsive, professional and able to communicate effectively with internal and external customers both verbally and in writing. The candidate will support design activities for new and modified designs, the incumbent will interface effectively with all product development cross functional teams and drive detailed engineering, design, validation and manufacturing documentation. Additional duties include:Duties: Support Manufacturing Department, specifically Turn and Grind processes. Review of Engineering Transmittal Form (ETF) for tooling and manufacturability concerns.Create and maintain BOMA?s, component shop routings and estimated material usage.Generate and maintain detailed component Manufacturing drawings to Industry and company standards.Design and document bearing related components through detailed Engineering Change Orders (ECO).Evaluate grind stock and coordinate with Manufacturing to find optimal allowance and tolerances.Coordinate with production control, metrology and manufacturing regarding new component designs.Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineer and Tool crib to order necessary tools or single point when needed.Establish new manufacturing processes and techniques for prototype / short lead time bearings. Provide technical support to Manufacturing and Production Control for component interchangeability.Evaluate and suggest design changes to improve system productivity, reliability and maintainability. Identify and provide technical input in the development and creation of standard procedures and specifications.Contribute technical input during New Component Review meetings. Requirements:Education/Experience Required:BS in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering.A minimum of three (3) years experience in Manufacturing or closely related industry required.Proficient in assembly/detail drawings, GD and T, and dimensional tolerance analysis.Familiar with BOMA?s, Manufacturing Routers, and Machining Processes.Proficiency with CAD software packages, preferably SolidWorks.Proficiency with MS OfficeFamiliar with AS400 is a plusBasic knowledge of various Inspection methods and limitations. Other requirements:Able to prioritize and manage multiple projects with attention to detail.Self:starterStrong analytical skillsTeam player with strong communication and professional skills.
