Responsibilities: DDN is currently seeking a Software Engineer to work in our Paris/Pune/Maryland location to assist with feature design and development of DDNA?s Infinite Memory Engine (IME) technology. Interested candidates must have a strong background in the design and development of distributed high:performance computing systems and high:performance storage systems. Candidates must have strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent organizational skills. Responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to: Designing and developing features for DDNA?s Infinite Memory Engine (IME) technologyClearly documenting all aspects of your workCommunicating effectively with coworkersEffectively managing your time on the projects assigned to youProviding regular reports on your project progress to team members and supervisors Qualifications for this role include:BS or MS or Ph.D degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalentA reasonable level of fluency in EnglishCandidates MUST be eligable to work in the location advertised or have valid Visa or work permit Minimum 6 years of software development experience including a strong background in the following skills and areas:o C/C++ software development for Linux / UNIX computing environmentso Design and development of multi:threaded, distributed, High:Performance Computing (HPC) system software and / or middlewareo Software version control systemso Software unit testing frameworkso Writing system tests or automation scripts in Perl, Python, or shell scripting languageso Profiling and debugging I/O and CPU performance bottlenecks at various scales (per:socket, per:node, and cluster:wide).Experience developing software using:o Low:latency, high:bandwidth High:Performance Computing (HPC) networkso Parallel file system solutions (Lustre, GPFS)o SCSI and block storage controllerso Object storage systemso NVM storage technologyThe ideal candidate has knowledge of and experience using:o HPC application programming modelso Memory mapped IO programming models (mmap)o Event:driven programming modelso Lock:free programming conceptso Distributed key:value sto
