Position Summary:
This position is within HARMAN's Corporate Division, located at in Northridge, CA with approximately 27,000 employees around the world. The Information Technology team is looking for the ultimate team player and seasoned project manager to lead Application projects, specifically in the areas of SAP, e:commerce, manufacturing etc. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of delivering projects following project management methods closely resembling PMIs Project Management methodology in a global environment.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position does not have any direct or indirect reports.
Job Responsibilities:
: Simultaneously manage multiple IT projects with guidance from IT leadership
: Oversee the entire project lifecycle, from project approval to project closure.
: Develop and maintain dynamic project budgets and actuals.
: Manage the triple constraint of Scope, Schedule, and Budget throughout the project lifecycle, while maintaining a high level of quality in the process and results.
: Provide accurate, comprehensive, periodic status reports to multiple stakeholders.
: Interface with all levels of management and staff to provide strategic and tactical advice on project planning and execution and keep management informed.
: Participate in the evaluation, selection and maintenance of project management methodology and templates, and support Project Management Office overall operations.
: Assist new Project Managers in utilization of PMIS system and ensure understanding and adherence to Project Management Methodology and tools in managing projects.
: Mentor other Project Managers in the areas of Risk Management and Issue Management including preparation and execution of contingency and mitigation plans.
: Coordinate and participate in all project review meetings with Steering Committee.
: Create project portals and guide project teams on utilization and benefits.
: Adhere to Solution Delivery Lifecycle Methodology and PMO procedures.
: Assembles project team, assigns responsibilities, develops timeframes working with the subject matter experts and facilitate successful completion of project activities and deliverables.
: Determines project costs/ensures delivery on time and within budgetary guidelines.
: Assist in the management of vendors who work on assigned programs, including vendor evaluation, time card approvals, ongoing operational improvement efforts, etc.
Basic Qualifications:
: Bachelors Degree required
: Required certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP(R)) with 5:7 years of experience in IT Project Management
: Excellent analytical and organizational skills, including the proven ability to adapt to a dynamic project environment and manage multiple projects
: Demonstrated leadership qualities; experience simultaneously managing at least 15 team members on multiple projects and programs
: A global perspective with the ability to understand and work effectively in a culturally diverse organization
: The ability to educate others in project management skills, processes and techniques
: Ability to communicate in a virtual environment, in virtual teams, using both conference calling and Webex t
