The Director of Patient Revenue Cycle is responsible for overseeing the planning, organizing and coordinating daily operations to ensure processes from charge capture, claims processing, overall revenue, including cash, collections and payment functions for all patients is effective. Responsibilities include hiring and managing related staff, providing administrative and clerical services, input into process improvement, and overall coordinating proper patient access and billing and collections. Develops and manages processes to audit and monitor charge capture, denial and adjustment management, and reimbursement analysis of payer contracts. Ensures compliance with federal and state laws specifically pertaining to the revenue cycle. Provides ongoing guidance and feedback to clinical leaders to optimize revenues and eliminate barriers that reduce collectibles.The Director of Patient Revenue Cycle also conveys a positive image of the clinic and exhibits values of respect, integrity, innovation, and compassion.
The Director of Patient Revenue Cycle works under the general supervision of the Chief Operating Officer.
Responsible for all aspects of patient access to service, authorization, charge capture, payor contracting financial support, billing and collection activities on a daily basis at BHCC.
Oversee the planning, organization, implementation, direction and schedules of all authorization, claims management processes and controls to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of claim submissions, collections effort and payment distribution in compliance with contractual, state and federal regulations.
Facilitate work effort to bring continuous process improvement to related functions.
Develop, implement, and maintain all related policies and procedures.
Responsible for the directing and supervising of staff and all technical and clerical aspects of patient billing and collection including service, patient satisfaction and problematic issues as they arise.
Monitor denials management and determine corrective action plans.
Use routine monitoring reports to oversee the operational functions, ensuring that billing and collection goals for the department and each individual employee within the department are met.
Develop and maintain trending models, projections and performance benchmarking analyses.
Supervise patient billing and collections staff on a daily basis. Role include hiring, schedule, monitoring productivity standards, departmental training, approving time off, processing payroll, performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, and exit paperwork.
Assist the accounting department by approving all departmental bills for accounts payable and keep comprehensive records.
Coordinate with marketing representative and contribute to overall facility public relations and marketing efforts.
Provide strong alliance and act as a liaison with all medical staff (including physicians) and all ancillary departments of BHCC.
Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Bachelors degree required. Masters degree preferred.
Minimum of seven years of revenue cycle experience with five years of supervisor experience. System implementation or enhancement experience required. Exposure in Oncology setting is highly preferred.
Excellent computer skills and EMR knowledge, including, proficiency with Microsoft Office suite applications.
Strong management skills and dealing with conflict resolution
