Aerojet Rocketdyne is seeking a Senior Program Management Specialist to join our team in Canoga Park, California (Los Angeles area). ULA has contracted with Aerojet Rocketdyne (AR) to provide liquid rocket engine booster propulsion to support launch of the Delta II launch vehicle. In addition, AR is on contract to close the production line capability while supporting the remaining Delta II missions.The Senior Program Management Specialist will serve as the RS:27 IPT Leader. In this role, you will demonstrate strong team building and communication skills to motivate a cross:functional team including AR, ULA and NASA customers and subcontract personnel. The IPT Leader will ensure the team maintains a strong working relationship with other DCSLS program IPTs and the functional Center of Excellence (COE) organization. This position reports directly to the RS:27 program manager. 75 : Lead the AR product team in the area of post:delivery support of the RS:27 including launch operations integration and test, pre:launch processing, launch and post:flight analysis of the RS:27 rocket engine system, brief internal and customer management on engine system technical readiness for flight problem analysis, data analysis, failure analysis, consumable resource management, risk management, brief internal and customer management on program technical status, and ARBOS metric performance. 15 : Ensure the scope of work is completed within cost and schedule constraints by applying management tools to plan, monitor and implement corrective action as required. 5 : Support proposal activity for contract follow:on efforts. 5 : Support closure of the production line capability while supporting the remaining Delta II missions.Requires a Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field and at least 14 years of applicable experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience). Requires U.S. Citizenship. As a Government Contractor, this position requires the employee to have access to premises which are, OR requires the employee to perform duties that are, subject to national security requirements of the United States under government contracts that impose US Citizenship requirements for such positions. Must be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information. Having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement. Additional Requirements and Preferred Qualifications:Candidates should have a strong background in liquid rocket engine propulsion and performance.Demonstrated successful management of technical, cost and schedule goals (Earned Value Management).Experience in dealing with customers and in leading cross:functional work teams addition to a solid understanding of the RS:27 performance, the ideal candidate will be familiar with RS:27 production including suppliers, in:house fabrication processes and hardware obsolescence. Work Environment/Physical Requirements:Employees in this position must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit or stand and maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require occasional walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. This position may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
