Union position. 2nd shift.100: Assemble, repair, and test the mechanical, pneumatic and, plumbing, electrical and instrumentation elements of developmental and production propulsion products per engineering requirements and performance standards. Common hardware includes pneumatic and hydraulic valves, pressure vessels, manifolds, injectors, thrust chambers, wiring harness and cable assemblies, circuitry, thermocouples, strain gauges, and welded line assemblies. Using hand tools, precision measuring instruments and power equipment, assemble, repair, rework and modify components to required tolerances by hand fitting, aligning, adjusting, lapping, shimming, tapping, drilling and reaming. Operate pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic test equipment to simulate operating conditions and perform tests of propulsion products and components for internal leakage, pressure differentials, load curves, contraction, expansion and flows.High school diploma is required. Minimum 3 years closely related assembly and test experience is required. Experienced at interpreting information from paper and computerized planning documents, drawings, specifications, and engineering orders to determine sequence of operations and methods required to assemble, disassemble, install, repair, set:up and test hardware within tolerance and per all engineering and quality requirements. Record information manually or with the aid of a computer based system. Assembly skills required:safety / lockwiringo:ring inspection, lubrication, and installationtorque wrench selection and torquing with manual and digital wrencheshelicoil installation, extraction, and tang removalstaking of burst discs and valves in preparation for electron beam weldingmasking and lapping of sealing surfacesinsulation spot weldingapplication of chem. films, epoxys, sealantsrouting and clamping of cable assemblies and wiring harnessesAdditional fabrication and assembly skills preferred:soldering, lead forming, pottinginstall connectors, connector pins, and electrical sub:componentsExperience with:operation of thermal drying chambers and vacuum chambersoperation of mass spectrometer leak test equipment and bubble leak testshydraulic and pneumatic leak, proof, and flow tests using controls, instrumentation, and data acquisitioncyrogenic testingsingle:zone pneumatic pressure proof testingObtain and maintain all required skills, environment, health, and safety certifications. Participate in team Lean manufacturing and process control / process improvement initiatives. Contribute to promoting a safe working environment.
