Position Summary: The Logistics/GIS Manager directly reports to the Area Vice President of Operations and is responsible for the direct supervision of the Logistics Analysts. The Logistics/GIS Manager is responsible for reducing operating costs through the design and implementation of efficient routes. The Logistics Manager is also responsible for ensuring that route audits and other department activities are performed in compliance will all applicable franchise agreements. Essential Job Functions:Works directly with local management to ensure periodic route reviews, optimizing routes, identifying route reductions with +/: volume, re:routes and communicating changes and benchmarks to Operations, Customer Service, Government Affairs, Compliance and BillingLos Angeles routing and efficiency for franchise contractImplementation of on:board computers on all commerical/non:commercial vehicles which will include providing GIS data, Roll:off GIS data interface, and Roll:off dispach improvements and consolidation for City of Los Angeles requirementsParcel data interface with customer database (SoftPak) Ensure all divisions are trained to perform daily route maintenance in routing programs/softwareManage the transfer of routes between facilitiesImplement and support the use of mobile on:board technologyEstablish and enforce route performance standards and route disposal plansAssist with preparing work plans for new business start:ups.All other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications: BachelorsA? Degree in related field or 2 yearsA? experience in related field.Extensive knowledge in Logistics and Geographical Information Systems implementation and administrationSuperior ability to properly manage, coach, and guide a diverse team.Exceptional team building abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.Advanced computer literacy abilities (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)Exceptional analytical abilities.Superior organizational skills.Advanced problem solving abilities.Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations. Preferred Qualifications: Experienced in using Route Smart and Soft:Pak applications. Physical/Environmental Demands:Physical:Standing, walking, seeing, hearing, sitting and smelling continuously.Problem solving, oral/written communication, analytical ability, concentration, and interpersonal abilities continuously.Bending, reaching, stretching, foot (pedaling) and lifting A? 50 Lbs. frequently.Eye/hand coordination, handling, and wrist motion continuously.Environmental:Exposure to dust, smoke, fumes, odors, grease, oil, chemicals, wet/hot conditions, and noise continuously.Works inside and outside.
