Aerojet Rocketdyne is seeking a Logistics Analyst to join our team in Canoga Park, California (Los Angeles area). In this role, the Logistics Analyst will be focused on freight and transportation aspects, but could support other logistics:related areas as needed.75 : Utilize knowledge of pertinent federal, state and local regulations, codes and guidelines to ensure that goods and materials are handled within compliance. Provide guidance and instruction to employees in all areas related to proper shipping techniques and procedures pertaining to, but not limited to, hazardous material, domestic and international shipments, etc. Interpret drawings, prepare documentation, and coordinate with applicable hazard classification testing facilities to support the Department of Transportation (DOT) hazardous materials classification processes. Establish and maintain an updated record system of shipping instructions, shippers, military standards, military specifications, carrier information, and all other related documentation for shipping personnel. 25 : Other logistics:related duties as needed. May plan, schedule, and route inbound and outbound shipment activities using knowledge of government regulations, tariffs and company policy. May help coordinate out:plant runs, in:plant runs, and courier service to ensure the timely delivery of all product and material for internal and external customers. Recommends changes to transportation and warehouse management plans in response to changing processes and supply documentation to support numerous internal and external audits.Requires a BachelorA?s degree in an appropriate discipline and 3 years of related experience (5+ years of related experience preferred) or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of MRP/ERP (Oracle preferred), FAR requirements, DOT Hazmat transportation and storage required. Requires U.S. Citizenship. As a Government Contractor, this position requires the employee to have access to premises which are, OR requires the employee to perform duties that are, subject to national security requirements of the United States under government contracts that impose US Citizenship requirements for such positions. Must be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information. Having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement. Work Environment and Physical RequirementsEmployees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit or stand and maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require occasional walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat.
