The Corporate Controller reports to the Chief Financial Officer and will be a key leader in the accounting, reporting, budgeting, and accounting systems functions. The Flynt family of companies represents a complex international multi:industry conglomerate with financial visibility managed through sophisticated consolidations and reporting packages across a large number of entities and a number of accounting software systems. As part of a dynamic management team, you will supervise or interact with divisional controllers, finance and accounting staff, business unit leaders, corporate executives, outside professional advisors and banking relationships to ensure the organization is optimal in its reporting and financial management. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESBe a major participant in the corporate monthly closes and reporting packagesWork with divisional controllers to ensure accounting and closings are in orderReview monthly financial statements and provide consolidated fluctuation analysisAssist CFO with managing the relationship with the external auditorsCreate, maintain, and communicate written policies and proceduresPerform accounting research and provide technical guidance as neededReview journal entries and G/L accounting reconciliationsPrepare consolidated cash reportsAssist CFO with budget preparation, roll:ups, and presentationMake recommendations and work with management to develop ERP procedures, processes, and workflow to ensure maximum efficiency in the CompanyAssist CFO in ensuring a strong and effective internal control environmentSupervise a small number of staffSupport team members in completing additional tasks and ad hoc projects as requiredQUALIFICATIONSStrong GAAP knowledge and research skillsOutstanding interpersonal and written communication skillsHighly organized, with great attention to detailStrong ability to plan and organize multiple projects and tasks under strict deadlinesStrong Excel skills including proficiency with pivot tables, macros and vlookupsHighly computer proficient, including advanced user capabilities with at least one major ERP systemERP Implementation experience a plusGood experience in supervising accounting staffEntertainment, media, internet, gaming or publishing industry experience preferredLevel:headed, and able to thrive in a dynamic and complex environmentEDUCATION/TRAINING8+ years relevant business experience in Accounting; minimum 3 years in management roleBA or BS in Accounting or FinanceCPA required/Big 4 preferred
