Business Service Representative (BSR:VEAP) will work on the VeteranA?s Employment Related Assistance Program (VEAP) grant. Will work as part of a team to identify priority industry sectors and career ladder opportunities therein. Will research needs and develop relationships with staff of area businesses to assist with opportunities to retain and grow their businesses. Will call on business and assist business to advocate for the hiring of Veterans and acquire information that supports their core functions such as existing and customized labor market information, information on local labor laws, and linkages to other available resources. BSR will assist businesses to identify career ladders within their organizations, assist in the development of job descriptions, and will implement customized and targeted candidate recruitments. Will help businesses to improve their competitiveness and profitability by showing businesses how to effectively hire, training, re:train workers. Provide expertise the business doesnA?t have such as identifying qualified candidates. Assist businesses by linking them to resources available in the community such as business incentives, support for companies that are downsizing and other available resources.Conduct business outreach through cold calling; phone contact, correspondence and face:to:face presentations to solicit orders for job vacancies and provide businesses with an overview of the AmericaA?s Job Center of California (AJCC) services.Review employment applications and job orders to match applicants with job requirements.Match applicant qualifications with businessesA? needs, recording and evaluating applicant experience, education, training, and skills.Identify and secure job placements for the advancement of program goals and outcomes.Monitor job placements to ensure customers are achieving success in employment placement and their career objectives.A?Develop and maintain database and statistics as required by program and funding sources.A?Develop partnerships and maintain collaborative working relationships with businesses, career centers, trainers and service providers to increase participantA?s resources to improve their marketable skills for job placement.Work closely with the case management team keeping open communication and interaction to meet customer satisfaction and job placement goals.Conduct employer needs assessments and obtain comprehensive job analysis.Make presentations to promote services and community awareness of AJCC and YPIResponsible for establishing new employer contacts and nurturing employer relations.Work with management team to develop and maintain viable Business Advisory Council.Other duties as assigned.Bachelor degree in social work or related field preferred or at least three yearsA? experience providing case management services in lieu of degree.At least two years of paid experience in workforce development, case management/career counseling, and/or recruiting.Proven track record in business to business sales in transferability of skills.Deep knowledge of military culture and ability to perform Military Occupation Specialty (MOS) translations.Knowledge of principles and processes for providing outstanding customer service.Strong knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, selecting, hiring.Exceptional organizational skill; attention to detail; ability to prioritize; ability to meet deadlines; ability to multi:task; strong problem:solving ability.Excellent written and verbal communications skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).Must be able to work some evenings and weekends.Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
