Overview: The Youth Policy Institute (YPI) is looking for teachers to work in our Supplemental Educational Services (SES) Program as part of the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) legislation. On site teachers will be responsible for supporting student's academic needs based on student learning plans (SLP) which are based on student pre-test data for the 2015-2016 school year. Teachers will work closely with 1-3 school sites within a specific area in Los Angeles or San Fernando. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: Responsibilities: * Responsible for providing supplemental academic instruction to on site students in a classroom setting. * Responsible for preparing lessons for each tutoring session that directly target the academic deficiencies of each student as identified by a pretest administered by the teacher. * Responsible for following all NCLB and program guidelines and complete all required paperwork (training will be provided). * Manage a classroom of 10 students (more might be added depending on program model). Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree * California Teaching _Credential is highly preferred_ * Will consider individuals that are currently obtaining teaching credential, clearing credential, out of state teaching credential with teaching experience * Must pass a criminal background check (Live Scan fingerprinting) prior to beginning employment. * Must present proof of negative Tuberculosis skin test (Mantoux) prior to beginning employment dated within 60 days. * Proven ability to assist children in an academic environment with math, reading and writing. * Excellent organizational skills, computer savvy and ability to do paperwork is a must. * Knowledge of computers and multi-media applications is a plus. * Ability to help English language learners become bi-literate and bilingual. * CLAD/BCLAD highly encouraged. * Bilingual Spanish/English is a huge plus. **SCHEDULE** * Up to 25 hours per week, depending on availability and willingness to work at different school sites. * After school programs, typically are Monday through Friday, 3:30-6:30pm, and some Saturday mornings. * Assignment is for the academic year beginning in September and ending in June, depending on availability and willingness to work at different school sites. *Job ID:* 2017-2085 *# of Openings:* 3 *Job Locations:* US-CA-Lake View Terrace *Category:* Education *Job Type:* Temporary Part-Time
