MedFax is an exciting company looking for a talented SQL Engineer and Developer to assist in the development, administration, maintenance, and expansion of a large data set managed in SQL. Some of our ground:breaking work includes:Building the worldA?s most accurate dataset on healthcare providersFurthering true transparency in healthcareCreating SQL based infrastructure to feed cross:platform capabilitiesDeveloping real:time monitoring of over 10,000 data sources which are ingested into SQL DatabasesThe SQL Database Developer will be responsible for the following:Implementation of new data schema, fields, etc.Work with data architecture and development team to come up with optimal database designs and methodology for acquiring, cleansing and integrating data into the MedFax data set.Importing data from various sources into an MS SQL Server database with an eye for repeatability and automation.Writing complex stored procedures.Analyzing, cleaning and de:duping data and building stored procedures to do the same.Transforming source data into standardized formats for inclusion in the master database.Validating processed results generated by other developers.Generating data analytics reports.Researching and comparing medical and other information sources.This is a position that requires someone who genuinely enjoys working with data and applies creativity in the process. The work largely consists of interactive use of SQL to perform ETL processes. We require someone with excellent attention to detail, who takes pride in ensuring that data is correct and consistent.The ideal candidate will have 2 to 5 years of hands:on experience working with Microsoft SQL Server, preferably in the field of healthcare.Strong facility with SQL language and significant experience working with one or more relational databases, preferably Microsoft SQL Server.General understanding of database theory, and database design.Ability to write and deploy effective triggers, stored procedures and user defined functions.Knowledge and experience with various data transfer formats such as csv, pdf, etc.Knowledge and experience with Python would be a plus, although not a requirement.Some experience with basic web development technologies (html, php, etc.) would be useful although not necessary.Experience working within a cloud based environment, preferably Microsoft Azure.Must have very strong verbal and written communication skills in English. The nature of our business is such that our data must be error free in all respects, and this requires that our developers have exceptional command of English vocabulary, spelling, grammar, punctuation, etc.BS degree in Computer Science or other related field.Certification in SQL ServerSome quantity of healthcare education or background would be a plus.Prefer someone comfortable in both Windows and Mac environments.This is a full:time position with competitive salary plus benefits requiring on:site work in our Glendale, CA office.
