This position supports Aerojet RocketdyneA?s Avionics Engineering organization and reports to the Director of Avionics Design. In this role, you will perform an array of processes and technical related managerial duties in support of a variety of Avionics electrical test equipment design projects. This position will be located at our facility in Canoga Park, CA (Los Angeles area).70 : Primary responsibilities are the management of the electrical test equipment design process and the leadership of the electrical design engineering staff.Provides supervision and leadership on the definition, maintenance and implementation of the electrical test equipment design process.Work with Program Managers, Chief Engineers, Integrated Product Team Leaders and Electrical Test Equipment Design Team to successfully manage the technical aspects of test equipment design projects in support of program cost, schedule, and technical requirements.10 : Provide support to internal and external design reviews to assure AR test equipment product designs comply with AR design processes, procedures and best practices and satisfy project cost, schedule and technical requirements. 10 : Provide employee mentoring and career development opportunities to ensure a dedicated workforce is always ready and available to satisfy the test equipment design needs across a variety of AR programs. 10 : Develops design process improvements, tools and training as needed to streamline Enterprise design costs for programs while also reinforcing design to cost and re:use when possible.Requires a Bachelors degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer or Aerospace Engineering (or other related engineering/scientific discipline) and at least nine years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. US Citizenship Only Required. Dual Citizenship does not meet job qualifications. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level. Additional Requirements and Preferred Qualifications: Must be a self:starter, able to perform effective conflict resolution, mentor and motivate employees to successfully meet program cost, schedule and technical goals.Previous hands:on electrical test equipment design experience and knowledge of test equipment processes are strongly preferred and a demonstrated understanding of DoD/NASA engineering processes, materials, analysis and manufacturing is required.Must possess strong technical writing and effective presentation skills.Experience with Rocket Engines and Space Rated Avionics components and systems are a plus. Work Environment and Physical Requirements:Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 15 pounds; may require minimal walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
