Position Summary:
Working under limited supervision, will perform a wide variety of duties to install, maintain and repair facility electrical equipment and systems.

Job Responsibilities: Position will be responsible for repairing, installing, replacing and testing of electrical circuits and appliances using handtools and testing instrument including the following.
:Replaces faulty switches, sockets and other elements of electrical systems.
:Inspects equipment and diagnoses trouble.
:Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics and follow verbal instructions to plan and lay out conduit, install transmission equipment and ensure proper operation of installed electrical equipment and systems.
:Troubleshoots electrical malfunctions to isolate and repair electrical problems.
:Performs all work with adherence to safety procedures.
:Performs other functions, tasks, and duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:
:Minimum of four years as a journeyman and four years as an apprentice and/or helper.
:Requires a well:rounded knowledge of the practices, tools, equipment and materials used in the electricians trace.
:Knowledge and understanding of pertinent local electrical codes a must.
:Must be able to speak, read and write English.
:Basic math skills needed.

Physical Demands:
:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk and listen. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Eligibility Requirements
:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; and high, precarious places. The employee is occasionally exposed t0 fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
