Job Description:/h3:
General Description
The Estimating Coordinator will report to the Chief Estimator and assist a department of approximately 5 estimators. The coordinators role provides technical and administrative support to make the bid and estimating process as efficient as possible.. This includes downloading documents from various sites, document distribution, ftp maintenance, subcontractor contact, quantity takeoffs, file creation, printing plan copies for Estimating and Operations and administrative duties. The Estimating Coordinators role will require a strong send of urgency to meet company goals and fulfill client expectations.
Bid/Estimate Support:
Use various software programs to communicate with subcontractors and distribute electronic plans and specs.
Manage flow of bid info (addenda, RFIs, etc.) designers and subcontractors.
Basic order entry for use of storing project data.
Prepare bid forms and customize bid analysis documents (Excel).
Print, scan copy plan and documents including loading plans rolls of up to 50 pounds
Collect and organize subcontractor bids.
Prepare post:estimate bid books.
Administrative Support:
Maintain subcontractor prequalification database.
Manage estimating software licenses.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Superior organizational skills with a high attention to detail.
Strong Bluebeam and Excel skills.
The ability to work in high pressure situations and to meet deadlines.
The ability to be flexible in managing multiple tasks in a short period of time.
Basic knowledge of the construction award process and an interest in the industry.
Ability to manage multiple projects including planning and organization, decision making, problem solving, project management, scheduling, delegation and ensuring all departments are working together.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers and associates at all levels.
