The Director of Strategy, Professional Solutions, will play a key role in driving business wide initiatives and analyzing global information and business metrics across the Pro division, as well as driving market insights across businesses. In addition, the role will be set up to be a liaison with west coast connected car startups and innovation centers.
40 Strategic Planning and Strategy Execution
:Work closely with the President of the Professional Solutions Division, the VP of Corporate Strategy and the Professional Solutions Executive Leadership team to drive strategic growth initiatives.
:Facilitate and participate in strategic planning sessions at division and corporate level. Provide insight based on experience; solicit advice and opinions from thought leaders within each division.
:Establish metrics for key growth and process improvement initiatives, track progress against those metrics and support the implementation of these initiatives with the Pro leadership team.
:Support growth collaboration efforts across the Harman:Samsung divisions that will help capture the technological and market innovations identified in the 3S Synergy and Strategy initiative.
:Identify attractive adjacencies and make qualified recommendations to VP Strategy.
:Where appropriate, assist in the creation of business plans and conduct high level financial modeling to support strategic initiatives and evaluate global opportunities across all divisions.
:Work with M and A team to evaluate potential and identify target M and A opportunities.
40 Competitive Intelligence
:Drive the development, analytics and presentation of competitive data important to the decision:making process of the Executive team across the enterprise.
:Work directly with division and corporate teams to provide insight, analysis, and communication of business intelligence, including but not limited to.
:Quarterly "state of the industry" report to the VP Strategy.
:Monthly competitive intelligence reports suitable for distribution to the Executive Committee, CEO and Board of Directors.
:Materials for BoD and Investor presentations as needed.
20 Startup and technology scouting, partnerships, Integration
:Identify opportunities for innovation and partnerships in the Silicon Valley ecosystem.
:Work with integration team(s) to identify short and long term synergistic opportunities, model potential growth opportunities and/or cost savings and effectively communicate to executive teams.
:Facilitate effective communication between relevant functional teams in acquired and acquiring entities to ensure that synergies are realized and deadlines met.
:Provide periodic status reports to management.
:Bachelor's degree in Economics, Engineering, and MBA from top :tier institution preferred but not required.
:10+ years of experience, at least 3+ years of experience in a strategy role.
:Strong analytical skills, including the ability to perform advanced calculations, compile data and prepare charts and reports.
:Exceptional project management skills
:Strong computer proficiency and extensive knowledge/experience creating Excel spreadsheets.
:Strong written and verbal communication skills.
:Excellent presentations skills
