Job Description:/h3:
This person will manage a group responsible for the monthly accounting for a construction subsidiary of a multi:billion dollar NYSE REIT.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Include but are not limited to the following, as other duties may be assigned.
Ensuring that all aspects of the billing cycle of the construction subsidiary are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
Coordinate successful monthly, quarterly and year:end close, including the posting of all required journal entries.
Assisting in the analysis of the monthly financial results.
Identifying and implementing more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining accuracy.
Responding to requests and inquiries from senior management, property management personnel and others, and completing special projects as assigned.
Providing senior
leadership/accounting expertise in the accounting group.
Managing the construction accounting group, including hiring, training and evaluations.

Excellent organization and management skills to drive solutions, including demonstrated ability to lead and mentor accounting professionals.
Strong technical construction accounting skills and knowledge of US GAAP.
Self:motivated, enthusiastic individual who works well in a team environment under tight deadlines.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Hands:on, meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in work product.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, along with detailed knowledge and experience with job cost and general ledger systems, preferably Timberline.
CPA license, with a minimum of ten years experience in finance and accounting environment, including at least 5 years in a management role. Bachelors degree in accounting and construction
accounting/industry experience preferred
